Ceramic Coating 9H

From RM1,280 · two days, drop and collect

A two-day job, layered properly, cured in a sealed bay. Done correctly, a 9H ceramic coat sheds rain water cleanly, holds gloss through tropical sun, and shrugs off the bird droppings and tree sap that eat into bare clear-coat. Done quickly, in a roadside shed, it does almost none of those things. We will not do this work in a hurry.

Why ours takes two days, not one

The chemistry needs time. Two layers of 9H SiO2 between them want 24 hours of cure with no water and minimal dust. We have a sealed cure room, a HEPA-filtered fan, and a no-touch rule for the body of the car for the entire cure window. The bay timer does not finish the job; the chemistry does.

If a workshop offers ceramic in three hours, it is either not the same chemistry or it has not been cured. The water beading might look identical in week one. The difference is in month thirty-six.

What we do, in order

  1. Day one, morning — walk-around and gauge

Paint thickness measured on every panel. We agree on the correction level — single stage, two stage, or polish-only. The plan is written on the work order.

  2. Decon

Iron remover, tar remover, full clay bar. The paint surface is left chemically clean.

  3. Correction

Whatever was agreed on the work order. Compound first, refine, gloss check under LED.

  4. Panel wipe

Final IPA wipe to strip polish oils before the coating goes on. This step is the one most often skipped at speed shops.

  5. Coat 01

Body panels, even pressure, hatched and crossed pattern. Removed at the right flash window for the ambient humidity.

  6. Overnight cure

Car parked in the sealed bay, lights down, fan on low. No water, no touch, no movement.

  7. Day two — coat 02 and detail coats

Second layer on the body. Separate hydrophobic coat on the glass. Rim faces coated. Twelve more hours of cure before pickup.

  8. Hand-over

Under the same studio LEDs we worked under. Aftercare brief, warranty paperwork, calendar reminder for the free 12-month inspection.

What the warranty covers

Three years, in writing. We re-coat any panel where the hydrophobic effect drops below spec inside that window, with no questions. The conditions are simple: hand washes only (you can use a contact wash with snow foam — our recommended monthly maintenance), no chain tunnels, and the free annual inspection wash happens on the dates we send you. If a panel ever needs re-doing, we will do it at the studio, not in a queue.

When ceramic is not the right answer

If you plan to sell the car within twelve months, a six-month polymer sealant from the Reset package is the more honest choice. If the paint has heavy stone-chip rash on the front bumper, paint protection film over a corrected surface is the better spend. We talk through the cheaper-and-better answer first.

Not sure if ceramic is right for your car?

Send us a photo and the keep-time you have planned. We will be honest about whether ceramic or a cheaper sealant is the better spend.
